JaenanTok has NO server. Zero data collection. Everything stays on your device.
Overview
JimmyLabs operates "JaenanTok" (재난톡), an offline emergency messaging app using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) mesh networking.
Core principle: No server, no cloud, no accounts. All data is processed and stored locally on your device only.
Data We Process (Locally Only)
- Nickname: Chosen by you, stored in device preferences
- Peer ID: Random 8-byte identifier, generated on-device
- Messages: On-device SQLite database, never uploaded
- Crypto Keys: X25519 + Ed25519 key pairs, local only
- GPS Location: Only on SOS request, shared via BLE only
We never collect
- Email, phone number, or any personal identifiers
- Advertising ID or device fingerprinting
- Analytics, crash reports, or telemetry
- IP address or any network requests
How Data Travels
All communication is Bluetooth-only between nearby devices:
- Direct messages: end-to-end encrypted (Noise Protocol XX)
- All packets: Ed25519 signed for authentication
- Mesh relay: forwarded through intermediate devices with TTL limits
No internet. No server. No cloud. Just Bluetooth.
Data Retention
Messages stored until you delete them. Uninstalling permanently removes everything. Settings → Delete All Data for manual reset.
Third Parties
None. Zero SDKs, zero analytics, zero third-party services.
Age Rating
JaenanTok is rated 17+. Not intended for children.
Your Rights (PIPA)
- Access: All data visible on your device
- Delete: Settings → Delete All Data, or uninstall
- Withdraw consent: Uninstall the app
